Topics of Discussion:

General Housekeeping – More emphasis placed on clean-up at the end of the day.  Hangar 3 is making steady improvements.  With the change of facility manager to Gary Layton, it was a good time to initiate the change.

Fuel Trucks – The current trucks in use are at that age where costs to maintain a safe vehicle exceed the value of the vehicle.

Communications – The pilot on the road has to maintain daily communications with both Maintenance and Operations.  It is the responsibility of  Home base and the pilot to ensure the connection.

A/C Accidents -  22 Oct 2006 a PHI Sikorsky S-76 crashed into the Gulf of Mexico . The two crewmembers escaped with minor injuries. A federal investigation is under way. Jack led the discussion because of his background with PHI and he knowing the pilot-in –command. Major topics discussed included: Crew coordination, Currency, Situational awareness and “Strike stress”.

Email:  Reminded pilot’s, especially those out of town, to check their email at least weekly for company notices, safety bulletins and other information.
